Oyo Swearing-in Ceremony gets Delayed As Makinde Locks in Heavy Traffic

The Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde was all set to get sworn at the ceremony. But He gets trapped in heavy traffic on Liberty Road. The ongoing vehicles and people for the ceremony were enough to create this traffic. As a result, the ceremony faced a great dealy.

The ceremony was arranged at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, which is located at Oke-Ado in Ibadan.

However, the stadium was quite big to gather a big amount of audience. and it also did it as we have seen heavy traffic around the stadium.

According to the sources, the Awolowo Stadium has a big 40,000 capacity. And it’s natural that surrounding road may exceed in bandwidth before the event goes on.

As Seyi Makinde was the main person who will get state governor batch, his unavailability affects the show quite badly.
The event was set to launch at 10 am but, after passing an hour still, Seyi Makinde can’t get into the ceremony.

The traffic jam was huge enough to hold the state mayor until it’s one hour and twenty minutes late.

The ceremony started at 11: 20 pm when Makinde gets into the stage.

However, all started normally when the state mayor Makinde was ready for the ceremony.

It was one of the most important events in Nigeria as we can see thousands of people coming into the stadium. Also, some of them have reached the venue hour before the starting time.

The enthusiasm was right on the top as there were so many great people on the stage. Eventually, the stadium failed to capacities those people. In result, a large number of people can’t enjoy the swearing-in ceremony.

On the ceremony, there was Munta Abimbol the Chief Judge of the state, Ayodele Fayose, Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Oyo, Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Lastly, Seyi Makinde inspected a well-constructed guard of honor by the Nigerian police personnel.

Earlier this year March, 9 Makinde won the election on the behalf of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). And with this swearing-in ceremony, he is now governor and deputy governor of the respective state.
