Here’s news updates on how President Buhari voted in Daura as polls open for 2019 Nigerian election.

Officially, the 2019 presidential election voting has began, the race of who will become the next president is on.

As anxiety fills the air and curiosity embraces the heart of every Nigerian, they take up the mantle of been patriotic by casting their vote which would allow the best man win.

Political tussle for power, has been ongoing for a long period of time as regards the 2019 presidential election, with the two prominent parties arising and trying to prove to the populace that they are the right person for the position.

The incumbent president, in an attempt to lead by example and show his level of patriotism, took up the responsibility of casting his vote at Daura, which happens to be his hometown.

President Muhammadu Buhari was one of the first in the queue when the nearly 120,000 polling stations began opening at 0700 GMT. He voted in his hometown of Daura, in northwest Nigeria.

This is actually a sign that the president is trying to pass a message to everyone that no one is above the law.

The wife, Aisha, was not left out in the process, as she voted before the president, who happens to be her husband at 8.06 a.m., while the president voted at 8.10 a.m. at the Kofar Baru, Sarkin Yara “A” ward in Daura.

After voting, the president expressed satisfaction with the state of affairs and said he was optimistic of winning, So far, so good.

Nigerians understand and are behaving themselves,’’ Buhari said when asked to give his assessment of the election excersise, so far.

When asked if he would congratulate the winner if he lost the election he said, “I will congratulate myself; I am going to be the winner,’’ the president said.

He was full of confident and conviction that he would emerge the winner in the ongoing election.

Only time will tell who would be Nigeria’s next president.
