2027 Presidency: Tinubu Has Failed on Governance and Does Not Deserve Re-election, Says Donald Duke

In a sharp and uncompromising critique of the current administration, the former Governor of Cross River State and presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Donald Duke, has declared that President Bola Tinubu does not merit a second term in office. Speaking during a high-profile broadcast, Duke painted a grim picture of the nation's current trajectory, asserting that widespread economic distress has systematically eroded the political goodwill that ushered Tinubu into power in 2023.

Duke, widely respected for his developmental strides during his tenure in Cross River, made a clear distinction between political craftiness and the actual art of governance. While acknowledging that President Tinubu is a formidable political strategist, he argued that this acumen has failed to translate into tangible progress or relief for the millions of Nigerians currently grappling with unprecedented inflation, currency devaluation, and rising energy costs.

According to Duke, the initial optimism that characterized the early days of the administration has rapidly deteriorated into widespread despair.

"Things have gone harder for people; a lot of people are disillusioned by his style of governance. Hope has turned into despair,"

Duke remarked, emphasizing that the sheer weight of daily survival is forcing citizens to re-evaluate their political allegiances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The PRP chieftain further posited that the structural alignment of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) might not save it in the next general elections. He insisted that the realities of empty stomachs and deteriorating living standards will speak louder than any pre-arranged political alignments or regional dominance on election day.
