Bala Swears In 20 Bauchi LG Chairmen, Mandates Focus On Grassroots Security And Governance

In a high-profile ceremony at the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed presided over the official inauguration of all 20 newly elected local government council chairmen. The State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, administered the oath of office and allegiance to the executives, solidifying a rapid political transition across the state's local administrative zones.

The inauguration followed official declarations by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), which confirmed that candidates of the ruling party secured all 20 chairmanship seats in the recently concluded council polls. Furthermore, the ruling party claimed 319 out of the 323 contested councillorship seats across the state, leaving candidates from four opposition parties to secure the remaining four council wards.

Among those sworn into office were Hon. Umar Mohammed for Bauchi Local Government Area and Bappah Aliyu for Alkaleri Local Government Area. State officials noted that the swift transition was deliberately designed to eliminate governance vacuums at the grassroots level, ensuring administrative and operational continuity across all 20 local government areas without delay.
