Epstein Probe: Billionaire Leon Black Sues US House Committee, Rejects Subpoena to Appear

In a dramatic escalation of the ongoing congressional scrutiny into the networks of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, billionaire financier Leon Black has filed a federal lawsuit against the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. According to court documents obtained by reporters, Black's legal team has officially declared that the private equity mogul will not comply with a scheduled subpoena to appear for deposition on Thursday, setting up a major constitutional showdown between congressional investigators and one of Wall Street's most influential figures.

At the heart of the legal dispute is the committee's demand for access to various Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) associated with Black's extensive business empire. Attorneys representing the Apollo Global Management co-founder argue strenuously that these agreements have absolutely no bearing on, or relationship to, his historic association with Epstein. The lawsuit alleges that the congressional panel is engaged in an unlawful, politically motivated fishing expedition that transcends the legitimate legislative authority of the United States Congress.

Counsel for Black asserted that the demands for private, proprietary corporate records are an attempt to bypass established civil litigation boundaries.
