Alongside the closure of the commercial hub, security and environmental compliance officers impounded no fewer than 37 commercial tricycles (popularly known as Keke Napep). According to state officials, the operators of these impounded vehicles were caught violating environmental laws, particularly by operating during designated sanitation hours and illegally dumping refuse in unauthorized locations near the market area.
