PAAU Expels Six Freshmen, Sanctions Lecturer Over Illegal Off-Campus Exam Rewrite

Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has taken a decisive disciplinary step by expelling six 100-level students. This drastic measure follows a comprehensive investigation into allegations of grave examination malpractice, specifically involving an unauthorized examination rewrite conducted at a lecturer’s private off-campus residence.

The expelled students, all in their first year of study, allegedly bypassed official university channels to sit for the compromised assessment. According to reports from the institution's disciplinary committee, the illegal exercise was facilitated by a compromised academic staff member whose residence served as the clandestine examination hall, violating the university's standard senate-approved guidelines.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Marietu Tenuche, confirmed the development, emphasizing that the university will not compromise on its academic standards. The administration has historically prided itself on producing graduates of proven character and sound learning, making this breach a severe blow to the institution's reputational integrity that demanded immediate, uncompromising action.
