Tragedy in Kano as Gunfire at Wedding Ceremony Leaves One Dead, Three Injured; Police Nab Two Suspects

What was intended to be an atmosphere of joy and celebration turned into a scene of horror and mourning at Tudun Yola Quarters in the Kano metropolis, after an attendee allegedly opened fire in the middle of a wedding ceremony. The unexpected gunfire triggered widespread panic among guests, leaving one victim dead and three others with severe bullet wounds.

Confirming the tragic incident, the Kano State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that law enforcement operatives swiftly moved into the area upon receiving distress alerts. The prompt tactical response led to the immediate apprehension of two prime suspects connected to the fatal shooting.

Emergency personnel subsequently evacuated the wounded victims to a nearby medical facility for urgent surgical attention, while the body of the deceased was transferred to the mortuary. According to preliminary police findings, investigators are currently establishing the precise circumstances surrounding the discharge of the weapon and whether the firearm was legally acquired.
