Addressing the persistent controversies surrounding President Tinubu's background, Omokri mounted a robust defense regarding records held by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He argued that the public must distinguish between a law enforcement record and an actual criminal record, asserting that there is currently no active criminal prosecution or case against the President in the United States. According to him, the records in question stem from a 1993 civil investigation that did not target Tinubu as a criminal suspect, a fact he claims was verified by a 2003 clearance letter from the FBI to the Nigerian Inspector-General of Police.

To challenge what he characterizes as selective morality within the opposition camp, Omokri publicly dared Peter Obi to release his own FBI records. He explained that routine background checks, visa applications, and financial transactions often generate administrative records with foreign intelligence agencies that contain sensitive biometric and personal data. Omokri asserted that unless opposition figures are willing to subject their own private records to the same level of unrestricted public scrutiny, they lack the moral authority to demand the unilateral exposure of the President's personal files.

Reflecting on his personal political evolution, the former presidential aide revealed that his transition from a fierce critic of Tinubu to a defender of his legitimacy was driven by independent verification of facts. Omokri recalled traveling directly to Chicago State University with the intent of exposing discrepancies in the President's academic history, only to be presented with incontrovertible proof of graduation. He stated that intellectual honesty compelled him to publicly recant his previous assertions and apologize to the President, urging Nigerian journalists to move away from hearsay and commit to deep, investigative verification.
