Alarm in Ogun as police nab five teenagers over serial shop burglaries, recover stolen food items

Reacting to the successful arrests, the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the swift responsiveness of the Ado-Odo Division, while extending special praise to the So-Safe Corps and local residents.

"Collaborative stakeholder engagement remains absolutely vital to disrupting criminal networks before they establish deep roots in our communities,"

Ojajuni remarked, emphasizing that police presence alone is insufficient without localized intelligence sharing.

The Police Chief further issued a strong appeal to parents, guardians, and traditional leaders to exercise firmer custody and supervision over young people under their care, noting that early intervention is key to preventing minors from being recruited by hardened criminal syndicates. He also urged local business owners to proactively improve basic physical security measures, such as installing robust locking mechanisms and lighting around their business premises, to deter opportunist break-ins.
