El-Rufai Divided Kaduna, Paid Bandits and Abused Power, Defence Minister Christopher Musa Alleges

In sharp contrast to his condemnation of El-Rufai, General Musa expressed strong optimism regarding the governance style of the incumbent Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani. He credited the current administration with initiating deliberate, structured reconciliation processes designed to dissolve the artificial divisions erected by the previous regime. The minister emphasized that while absolute unity has not yet been fully achieved, there is a visible and tangible "breath of fresh air" blowing across the state as residents reclaim their freedom of movement and association.

"The country is supposed to be one. But Governor Uba Sani, within one year, has been able to dissolve all those divisions. Now, everybody is free, everybody has a say. You can see he is making a deliberate effort to unite the state," General Musa stated.

This public fallout between a sitting Defence Minister and a highly influential former governor underscores the deep, ongoing political realignment within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) elite. Security experts suggest that Musa's public denunciation of El-Rufai is a strategic signal that the federal government is moving away from pacification strategies, such as negotiating with or paying bandits, towards a more unified and uncompromising offensive against terror networks in the Northwest.
