Emir Sanusi Advocates Ethical Wealth Preservation, Unveils Afrinvest Digital Literacy Initiative in Kano

Responding to the royal call for economic resilience, the Group Managing Director of Afrinvest West Africa, Ike Chioke, highlighted the firm's decades-long pedigree of trust and relationship-building. Recognizing that financial inclusion cannot occur in an educational vacuum, Chioke unveiled a key corporate social responsibility project: a state-of-the-art 35-seater Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre built directly within the Emir's Palace.

This newly commissioned ICT hub is fully optimized for the modern age, powered by a robust 15-kilowatt solar energy installation and equipped with high-speed internet connectivity. The facility is designed to grant local youths unprecedented access to global digital learning tools, including online databases and academic materials from world-class libraries. This initiative directly addresses the critical digital skills gap in the region, positioning the local youth for opportunities in the global digital economy.

Furthermore, the initiative bridges the ancient and the modern by supporting the digitization of the Emirate’s vast archival treasures. The palace library, which boasts a rich collection of over 300,000 historic books and manuscripts, is undergoing digital cataloging. This historic preservation project will allow researchers worldwide to study Kano's profound cultural, economic, and political history via modern digital platforms.
