In an authoritative and uncompromising rebuttal, the Nigerian Presidency has faulted a recent analytical assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration by the UK-based publication, The Economist. Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to the President, accused the international news magazine of relying on a distorted and superficial narrative of Nigeria's complex socio-political and economic landscape.

In a detailed public statement issued on Wednesday, titled “Beyond the Economist Condescension: Nigeria’s Re-engineering Under Tinubu Is Unstoppable,” Dare challenged the foreign publication's claims that President Tinubu’s policies have alienated the populace. He argued that such assessments fail to grasp the scale of the structural reforms currently being executed to salvage the West African nation's economy from decades of systemic rot.

According to Dare, foreign media organizations have consistently evaluated Nigeria through what he termed a "cracked, distorted lens." He emphasized that these analyses often highlight current inflation and transitional hardships while conspicuously ignoring the near-collapsed state of the economy inherited by the Tinubu administration in May 2023.
