Kwara 2027: Late Governor Lawal's Son Collapses SDP Structure Into APC, Backs AbdulRazaq

In a sharp rhetorical salvo, Lawal argued that any internal or external rebellion against Governor AbdulRazaq is indirectly a fight against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that party hierarchy must be respected, drawing a parallel between the President's national leadership and the Governor’s state-level authority. "Just like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our leader, so is Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq our leader in Kwara State, and there can’t be two leaders at a time," Lawal remarked, urging patience among ambitious politicians.

Highlighting the virtue of political perseverance, Lawal recalled that Governor AbdulRazaq himself contested the governorship seat three times before eventually securing victory. He cautioned his supporters against returning to the opposition, famously predicting that the opposition in Kwara State is destined to remain in the wilderness for the next twenty years. "APC is where God is. We are not going back to opposition," he declared, cementing his commitment to the ruling party's long-term dominance.

Emphasizing reconciliation, the Kwara APC leadership welcomed the development with optimism. Representing the state APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, the Deputy Chairman, Abdullahi Sanmari, expressed confidence in the party's 2027 prospects. Fagbemi assured that the post-primary friction within the APC would not deter its electoral fortunes, describing aggrieved members as "children of the same house" who are still welcome to return home to the ruling progressive family.
