A catastrophic fire outbreak has gutted the popular Eda Plaza, a prominent building materials market hub in the Jabi district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, decimating goods worth hundreds of millions of naira. The incident, which allegedly began in the late hours of the night, left shop owners and residents in absolute shock as they watched their livelihoods crumble into ash. Eyewitness accounts suggest the fire spread with ferocious speed, fueled by highly combustible materials stored within the complex.

While the exact cause of the inferno remains subject to official confirmation, initial reports point toward a potential electrical surge shortly after public power was restored to the area.
