Beyond electoral politics, Wike resurrected unresolved allegations regarding massive financial outlays under the Amaechi administration. Key among these is the controversial $39.2 million allegedly paid for the Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte Specialist Hospital—a project that a Rivers State judicial commission previously investigated. Wike questioned why such a massive sum was committed to a facility that never materialized, leaving the state without the promised healthcare infrastructure.

The FCT Minister also aimed his sights at the N68 billion monorail project, designed to modernize public transport in Port Harcourt but left incomplete. Wike described these schemes, alongside a $10 million malaria control program allegedly executed with Cuban partners, as expensive white elephants.

"Ask him about the fumigation of Rivers State with people from Cuba in which $10 million was spent. Ask him whether mosquitoes have stopped biting us in Rivers State," Wike mocked.

Highlighting Amaechi’s 24-year career in top-tier governance—comprising eight years as Speaker, eight years as Governor, and eight years as Minister—Wike challenged local leaders to identify a single landmark project attracted to their domain during that period. He argued that leadership must be defined by the physical structures left behind and the succession pipelines established to elevate others, rather than personal survival.
