Super Eagles Stars Omeruo, Shehu Abdullahi Snag Executive Roles in City Boy Movement

In a move that has stirred discourse across both the football pitch and the political arena, the City Boy Movement has unveiled the appointment of Super Eagles stalwarts Kenneth Omeruo and Shehu Abdullahi into its national leadership framework. The group, known for its vocal support of the current administration’s policy direction, appears to be leveraging the immense cultural capital and popularity of these international footballers to bolster its grassroots appeal.

While specific details regarding their primary responsibilities remain subject to internal clarification, reports indicate that the duo will be spearheading sports-related initiatives and youth engagement strategies under the movement’s banner. Both players, who have enjoyed distinguished careers representing Nigeria at the highest levels, are expected to lend their platforms to the group’s ongoing advocacy programs, aiming to mobilize the Nigerian youth demographic through sports-centric dialogue.

This development follows a growing trend of professional athletes transitioning into the advisory or symbolic roles of political movements. By incorporating figures with such significant public resonance, the City Boy Movement is clearly signaling an intent to pivot beyond traditional political rhetoric toward a more lifestyle-oriented approach that appeals to the pulse of the digital-age Nigerian electorate.
