Tragedy on Ife-Ilesa Expressway as Three Perish, 20 Injured in Ghastly Osun Auto Crash

Tragedy struck the quiet community of Tonkere along the ever-busy Ife-Ilesa Expressway in Osun State on Saturday, as a devastating collision between a Toyota Hiace commercial bus and a Volkswagen Golf sedan claimed three lives and left twenty others severely injured. The crash, which occurred during a high-traffic weekend window, sent shockwaves through the community as local residents and passing motorists rushed to initiate rescue efforts before the arrival of official emergency services.

According to preliminary reports from first responders, the accident involved a total of 23 passengers who were transit-bound on the federal highway. The victims comprised nine adult males, eleven adult females, and three young children—consisting of two boys and one girl.
