Bauchi LG Polls: APM Sweeps All 20 Chairmanship Seats, Secures 319 Wards

Amidst the overwhelming majority established by the APM, a narrow sliver of representation was salvaged by four minor political parties, which picked up one councillorship seat each across the 323 contested wards. Reports from regional collation centers indicate that localized candidate popularity allowed these isolated contenders to survive the broader political current.

Specifically, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) won Dandango Ward in Bauchi LGA; the National Rescue Movement (NRM) secured Darazo South Ward in Darazo LGA; the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) captured Wandi Ward in Dass LGA; and the Young Progressive Party (YPP) claimed Zirami Ward in Giade LGA. These lone victories mark the only non-APM representation at the local government level.

While delivering her final address, BASIEC Chairperson Abubakar commended Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for providing the administrative support necessary for the commission to function efficiently. She commended voters for maintaining peace throughout the voting process and urged the newly declared chairmen-elect and councillors to focus on delivering meaningful public service upon assumption of office.

As the newly elected local council officials prepare for inauguration, governance experts emphasize that public attention will swiftly turn to fiscal accountability, local infrastructure, and grassroots development across Bauchi State's 20 local administrative divisions.
